Thanks for subscribing and welcome to the funhouse! I say that both in jest and earnest; as will quickly become evident. Because just when you think you’ve seen it all…
My intention in starting this blog is really two-fold; to educate and to entertain (hopefully at the same time). Whether you’re an HR Professional or not, I’m certain there is value in the knowledge. As such, questions and comments are always welcome.
HR issues are NEVER simple or cut and dry. And they are common to everyone. At some point or another, we have all thought, “Does this happen to other people?” YES, it does. We have all experienced one of those moments in our careers. But due to the sheer volume of opportunity, I have witnessed more of those moments than most other people.
As most of you know, I’m a Human Resource Attorney who consults for businesses of all shapes and sizes across five states. Even though no two companies are alike, they do have similar HR issues, gaps and mine fields. So while I’ll be sharing lessons through stories, I’ll also be blogging about updates/amendments to laws and regulations and practical solutions through the use of well crafted documents and forms…which at times I will be sharing for use.
Because so much of HR involves federal and state employment laws, there is no way to avoid discussion of such. However, nothing on this blog should be construed as legal advice and subscribing to this blog does not constitute an attorney-client relationship.
I promise the above to be the last of the legalese!
